5 January, Session on benthic processes and benthic-pelagic coupling at EGU 2016

A session on benthic processes and benthic-pelagic coupling will be held at EGU General Assembly 2016.

This session aims to bring together an interdisciplinary community of scientists to discuss recent outcomes in the understanding of benthic processes and how they control biogeochemical cycling in the sediments and benthic-pelagic interactions.

New experimental setups and data collection techniques, recent modelling efforts addressing the implications of benthic-pelagic coupling at a basin and shelf scale, examples of cross-disciplinary collaborations in benthic processes research are among the expected highlights of this session.

The EGU General Assembly will take place 17–22 April 2016 in Vienna, Austria.
