Graduated cum laude in Geology (geochemistry line) in 1999 at the University of Palermo. Title of the Thesis: “Study about isotopic characterisation of Vulcano’s fumarolic fluids (Aeolian Islands), in collaboration with IGF - CNR of Palermo.
Qualification as "professional geologist" in 1999.
January 2004 / present - Technologist within the OGS Oceanography Section.
November 2001 / December 2003 – Collaboration with the Oceanographic Department of OGS. Main activities: collection and elaboration of oceanographic data; preparing reports; promotion of the visibility of some OGS activities through the creation of specific web pages and/or materials (posters, brochures, presentations, etc.) and organization of meetings and workshops; scientific secretariat.
May 1999 / June 2001 – Collaboration with Centro Oceanologico Mediterraneo (CEOM S.C.p.A., ENI group), Environmental Division, within the project: “Development and experimentation of off-shore mariculture techniques and technologies”. Main activities: studies about Environmental Impact Evaluation in off-shore mariculture systems; siting of off-shore systems; participation in oceanographic campaigns and sampling activity of water and sediments.
Project management; scientific and technical support to EU and Italian projects related to integrated marine monitoring systems.
